Protection of whistleblowers in the public sector and the fight against corruption – in particular in public procurement

Abstract

The fight against corruption is required as a measure to protect the Rule of Law and Democracy. There are several normative and nonnormative levels that have been addressing the phenomenon of corruption, its evidence, and mechanisms to combat it. In this text, we address the theme in the context of public procurement and how the data already available can be useful in the use of a mechanism to combat corruption: whistleblowing and the protection of whistleblowers.
