Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • A cover letter is presented in “Comments for the Editor”. The cover letter should highlight what makes the work new or important to the conservation field. The cover letter should explain why the work is appropriate for the journal and why it will be of interest to the journal’s readers.
  • The submission is original, has not been previously published, nor is under simultaneous consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has to be provided in Comments for the Editor). If the submission is intended for a special issue this has to be stated in Comments to the Editor.
  • The affiliation and email contact of 2 possible reviewers are provided in Comments for the Editor.
  • The submission file is in doc or docx, follows the journal Template and does not include footnotes or endnotes.
  • The submitted version has been approved by all authors and was reviewed carefully (form and content).
  • If any third-party figures are used the authors obtained the necessary permission and signed and submit the Statement of Figures .
  • Submission meets the ethical principles set out in Authors guidelines , in section Submission & Refereeing.

Articles

For the main contributions. The papers may present conservation treatments done with the support of other fields of knowledge, heritage studies not directly connected to conservation-restoration interventions, or reviews about subjects related to materials, techniques, history and intervention methodologies.

Notes

For contributions similar to those included in articles and interventions, but smaller in size.

Interventions

For contributions reporting on conservation interventions without the support of laboratory studies or others.

Opinions

For personal but relevant opinions on different conservation aspects and for reports on relevant occurrences or reviews of published materials. Letters and comments about published contributions are also included here.

News

For the presentation, more or less detailed, of projects and ongoing investigations.
