Aims and Scope
The Birth and Growth Medical Journal (ISSN 3051-7508) is a peer-reviewed scientific publication dedicated to advancing knowledge in Maternal–Fetal, Neonatal, and Pediatric Health, and it continues the legacy of Nascer e Crescer – Birth and Growth Medical Journal, which was published from 1992 to August of 2025.
Throughout its history, the journal has provided a trusted platform for the dissemination of high-quality research, clinical insights, and educational content. It is published by the Department of Education and Training (DEFI) of the Unidade Local de Saúde de Santo António (ULSSA) and is indexed in international databases including SciELO, EMBASE, REDIB, Index de Revistas Médicas Portuguesas and Latindex.
The transition to the Birth and Growth Medical Journal represents a strategic step forward, strengthening the journal’s commitment to scientific excellence, international visibility, and open access. The journal maintains a quarterly publication schedule and welcomes submissions of original research articles, reviews, clinical case reports, image cases, letters to the editor, and current perspectives.
All content is freely available under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC 4.0), with no article processing or submission fees charged. The editorial process is overseen by a qualified and experienced editorial board, ensuring the integrity, relevance, and scientific rigor of all published material.
