A importância deste estudo baseia-se na evidência de que, nas zonas de baixa densidade, é fundamental promover o empreendedorismo para promover o desenvolvimento regional e a competitividade, que é um mecanismo para alcançar a coesão social, económica, territorial e de solidariedade. Com o objectivo de apresentar um modelo desenvolvido, utilizando a revisão bibliográfica, entrevistas com empresários e análises comparativas de outros modelos, o que nos permitirá avaliar os constrangimentos territoriais destas iniciativas
