Abstract

This article undertakes a multidimensional characterization/comparison of the agricultural work patterns in the municipalities of the county of Oporto, which is one of the main focus of agricultural pluriactivity. The methodological issues are the main question argued in this article. Among them the author refers to the fundamental: 1) the selection of the analysis level; 2) the selected variables; 3) the selection of the multidimensional data analysis methods. At last, the author points out the importance of the construction/characterization of the agricultural work patterns typology as an empiric basis for the selection of geographical area(s) for case studies.
