Walking to happiness – about the presence and reach of the ethics of sport virtue in the trekking domain
sobre a presença e alcance da ética da virtude esportiva no domínio do trekking
Abstract
This article has two challenges. On the one hand, it seeks to outline some of the constitutive bases of ethics of sporting virtue in dialogue with the literature. On the other hand, it intends to demonstrate how these values are mobilized in the world of contemporary trekking. In methodological terms, the study is empirical-theoretical and seeks to align a socio-philosophical reflection on the ethics of sports virtue through an ethnographic work developed in Portugal. It is concluded that the sporting virtue can be sustained as a constitutive reflexive dimension of the habitus that surrounds this practice.
