Abstract
The present article analyses and discusses some psychological and epistemological assumptions underlying Information and Communication Technologies, in general, and elearning, in particular, discussing the opportunities and challenges as well as difficulties and threats of these instruments, with regard to educational and pedagogical practices, in order to offer new forms of action and interaction in teaching and learning processes, to enhance literacy, and to promote learners empowerment.
