La fiesta de "Moros y Cristianos" en Andalucía. Una aproximación desde la Antropología
Abstract
During religious festivals in many Andalusian villages there can be found a popular public performance generally known as ‘The Moors and the Christians’. Although this show is by no means the only component of the festivals, as a representation of the local identity it is certainly the strongest and goes beyond other popular celebrations. That is why its elements such as fights, processions, and others draw most attention on the part of the natives. It is not easy to find out the origin of these public shows, nor who idealised them. It is even harder to know how they came to be practised in specific settlements. This study examines this type of drama-festivals from an anthropologicalperspective.Downloads
