Résumé

The human capacity for psychosomatic, affective, and symbolic experiences associated with trance and love calls for a reappraisal of body and mind in their more general relationship with cultures and the process of humanization. Luc De Heusch explores the varied love languages such as passion, with its delights and torments, love that grows from the relation of aggression to sexuality, love that expresses itself with theater, aesthetics, religious ecstasy and even with humor, contributing to a deeper understanding of affect psychology.
