Abstract

The purpose of this text is to discuss concepts, hypotheses and typologies concerning the issue of housing, evidencing a great diversity of quantitative and qualitative dimensions in rapid change, whether in the Portuguese experience, or, in a differentiated way, in the time, in the countries of Europe. It is an emerging discussion deriving from new socio-urban problems, the coexistence of private and public housing, and demographic and family changes, with new housing needs.
