Abstract

The environmental issue had a global impact, long before the current globalization was discussed. And yet, between what has been enshrined in "ecological criticism" and the current "critical environment," there is a story that must be pointed out. On the other hand, the notion of the urban environment, which is contemporaneous with that context of globalization, assumes itself as a notion transversal to the various dimensions of the traditional urban question. There will, however, be a distinction between this urban environment and the city's own environment as two distinct, yet complementary notions. Emphasis is also given to the patrimonial dimension in question, the text ends by asking about some of the conditions and consequences of social and political sustainability of the urban environment.
