Abstract

This article is part of a larger report - Public Revitalization Policies: a reflection on the strategic and operational formulation of the actions to be carried out in the NSRF, of October 2005 - which aimed to indicate contents and forms of design of a potential programme in urban revitalization inserted in the next Community framework. Given the mutation of societies, the diversity of situations to be held in account and the proliferation of concepts, the first concern was to situate the concept of urban revitalization in the context of the diversity of concepts of the same family: requalification, rehabilitation, renewal, etc. Based on an encompassing concept that defines urban revitalization as an integrated process of resuscitation on the part of the city and where operations of various kinds can be included, we intend to structure a typology of empirical situations that enables shaping the potential diversity of interventions in name of the said urban revitalization.
