Abstract

The "Critical Neighborhoods" Initiative aims to promote an integrated and comprehensive territorial approach by developing an experimental intervention around alternative organizational models of urban rehabilitation. Among the key aspects guiding the initiative is a strong strategic coordination, interministerial cooperation and the elaboration of intervention plans focused on the diagnostics of the territories and designed at local level by the set of local partners. The Initiative is part of a new city policy that extends the traditional concept of urban rehabilitation to a broader domain that articulates the economic, social and environmental perspective and ensures social cohesion and quality of life through organizational innovation and models of the intervention to be carried out as a joint project of the various actors in the territory.
