Abstract

We propose to reflect on some key issues that frame the Guaranteed Minimum Income / Social Inclusion Income regarding the recent work of Fernando Diogo, "Poverty, Labor and Identity", which seeks to understand the effect of GMI / SII on the relationship of beneficiaries with the labour world, especially in the construction of their social identity. On the other hand, it questions and contributes to understanding the deeper meaning of social integration, of the logics of the actors and their rationalities, and of the symbolic weight of the designations produced by the State in terms of its effect on the construction of social identities.
