Abstract

In this article I analyze the tikmũ,ũn recent history through their sacrificial practices and the relationship they establish with the yãmĩyxop (group of singing spirits). As I analyze historically the process of “whitening” the tikmũ,ũn land, which consists of its desertification and reterritorialization through extensive livestock, I observe that there are different territories crossing indigenous and non-indigenous bodies. The article develops two arguments. The first one is that sacrifice mobilizes a construction of the body of the tikmũ,ũn person, which places it on other paths, different from the reterritorialization in agriculture and cattle raising. The second is that if whites and tikmũ,ũn people mobilize different territories in their bodies, this allows me to say that if the point of view is in the body, then possibly it is historical and territorial and, in front of the land, the variable factor is less a culture than a nature.
