Résumé

In this text, I aim to analyze the connections between Mbya Guarani women and obstetric technologies. The hypothesis of this work is that technologies are appropriated by pregnant women because they give them new meanings, generate new practices, and modify personal projects. Based on ethnographic records, I question the idea that pregnant women have a passive role in the use of devices and that these are merely Western impositions. Anthropological discussions support these debates.
