Análise de áreas de preservação por índices adimensionais: Solos e floresta

Abstract

The fragilization of preservation areas due to anthropic pressures from agricultural activities and urbanization deprives these areas of their intended use. In the environmental management scenario, dimensionless indices can contribute to the evaluation of these fragilities. In this context, dimensional analysis was the method used in composing the dimensionless indices of this research when considering the dimensional combination of mass, length and time of soil management indicators. The results of this study demonstrated the applicability and potential of two dimensionless indices in the evaluation of the fragility of preservation areas. The first index relates to the natural area (IRAN), which establishes a relationship between the natural area and the area under agro-forestry-pasture management. The second index related to the exposed soil was named IRSE and expresses the relation between the exposed soil and the agrosilvipastoral management area. As a final consideration, the indices showed to be applicable in the spatial analysis of the fragility of the preservation areas, and can be used in the monitoring and management of these areas within watersheds.
