Promoting interventions of dignity in the adult and elderly in palliative care
Aim: Synthesise existing knowledge about the promoting interventions of dignity in the adult and elderly in palliative care Background: The longevity increasement, the increase in chronic and progressive diseases, as well as changes in the family network, they have caused impact on the organization of health systems and resources for the chronically ill. Palliative care will become increasingly important. The preservation and / or promotion of human dignity in palliative care has gained increasing emphasis. Review methods: This is an integrative literature review, conducted in accordance with the methods proposed by Sousa, Silva and Carvalho (2010).
Results: Three articles were included and three identified issues (Illness Related Concerns, Dignity Conserving Repertory and Social Dignity Inventory). Conclusion: This review clarified the meaning of dying with dignity and synthesized aspects of dignity in end-of-life care. Further
