Social inequalities have again become a strong focus of interest and analysis. The current theoretical perspectives in social sciences and the availability of institutional indicators have drawn attention to the global nature of contemporary inequalities. This article examines the various aspects of global inequalities. Following some preliminary theoretical questions, the topics addressed include the inequalities of human development, the relation between national and global inequalities, the new global classes, the objective and subjective inequalities in the world today and, finally, the issue of social justice and public policies at world level.Downloads
