O Empreendedor Social em África: oportunidade para o desenvolvimento da comunidade local através do turismo sustentado

Resumo

Os projectos de investimento em turismo sustentado têm crescido a um ritmo elevado nos países africanos em vias de desenvolvimento, impulsionados pelas ímpares condições naturais e o aumento da procura de um tipo de turismo alternativo. No entanto, a literatura refere que, na maioria dos casos, as comunidades locais não são as principais beneficiárias dos resultados socioeconómicos gerados por este tipo de empreendimentos. Esta comunicação identifica e analisa os desafios culturais, sociais e empresariais que o empreendedor social tem de vencer para que o seu projecto alternativo de turismo sustentado possa criar riqueza, ao mesmo tempo que cria bases de desenvolvimento na comunidade local.
