Reception practices of science communication in Portugal

Abstract

Science communication is a crucial activity for informing the public about scientific discoveries, the processes of scientific research, or the risks and benefits of various technologies. As part of a European project, this article, based on qualitative data (a consultation with a hundred Portuguese citizens), explores how people access scientific information, what they know about science communication in Portugal, and how they suggest improving this communication to make it more effective.
