Abstract

This text gives an overall presentation of the development of the Assembly of the Republic from 1976 to 1999. In addition to a brief description of the essential characteristics of our parliament, the text analyses the main types of change that the Assembly of the Republic underwent in the first two decades of democracy. The analysis will show how the Assembly developed a new role in the political system in the second decade.
