Liberal theory and the doctrine of double effect

Abstract

This text argues that no perception of liberalism, least of all the view held by Rawls and his followers, can have a merely political outlook. The theorists of liberal citizenship must supply an explanation as to the widerscope non-political lifestyle that their «political liberalism», despite all, implies.
