Abstract

This text seeks to reflect on public politics of the commemoration and celebration of decolonization, from the perspective of social movements and political activism in Lusophone Africa – especially Angola and Mozambique – and in Lisbon. Drawing on anti-hegemonic voices and perspectives, I seek to explore local contexts and movements of critical retrospective reflection on the consequences of decolonization, based on postcolonial political trajectories.
