Análise Social: six decades of themes and problems

Abstract

This article analyses, from a statistical point of view, the titles of the articles published in Análise Social (from 1963 to 2022), by comparing the words used over these six decades. Starting from the premise that a certain choice of words reflect a diverse set of “textual worlds”, which are organised according to different motivations and interests, these words, produced under certain historical contexts and mediated by the work of the journal’s editorial teams reveal both the continuity and the thematic changes that shaped its lexicon over time.
