Abstract

 Provavelmente um dos maiores e mais espectaculares avanços tecnológicos e científicos na prática médica dos últimos anos, verificou-se no diagnóstico e tratamento de patologias do recém-nascido e crianças gravemente doentes.

A Anestesia Pediátrica moderna é o resultado dos avanços conseguidos tanto na área da pediatria (neonatologia, cardiologia, cuidados intensivos, etc.), como no campo da anestesiologia, na sua tripla vertente: a anestesia para fins cirúrgicos, a reanimação e o tratamento da dor.
