"Envelhecer num lar"
Abstract
Like in so many other developed countries of the Northern Hemisphere, Portugal has been suffering relevant demographic changes towards the ageing of its population. The growing awareness of the effects raised by the demographic and social changes, and their effects to both the general and the senior population, have raised a substantial body of research studies. However, Anthropological research has been considering this a marginal subject. The main objective of this article is to bring to general knowledge one study case of the life of elders in a geriatric hospital.
