Abstract

The building of the ancient "Santos Jorge garage, coach house and stables", in Estoril, was ordered to be build in 1914. The architect Norte Junior was the responsible of the family holiday house enlargement project. The building is characterized both architectonic and constructively, as result of its exterior observation. The impossibility of interior observation which would certainly allow confronting to the exterior elements collected has to be noted. This paper presents the construction project and the buildings' chronology between 1965 and 2005, the time period for which local municipality archive holds documentation. The main aim of this article is to contribute to the material and constructive knowledge about Santos Jorge Coach House, a remarkable and abandoned construction, and so support a correct intervention.
