Notions and Perceptions of Quality of Life: What clues to an intervention in the city?

Abstract

This article, based on empirical information collected in the context of the research that serves the Doctoral Thesis: Perception and Evaluation of Quality of Life in AML - Resources, aspirations and needs in the construction of the notion of quality of life, in particular the Questionnaire Survey applied in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, intends to account for both the notions of quality of life internalized by the AML inhabitants and the ways of perception and evaluation of the quality of life. It is also discusses the sociological and even political implications (at the level of the intervention in the city) of certain contents associated to the dominant notions of quality of life as well as the processes of structuring the ways of perception of the quality of life and respective levels of satisfaction.
