Abstract

The history of the Roma is associated with a series of migratory movements, displacements and deployments in territories always occupied previously by the Gadje. The adaptation to the situations created by the reunion with these groups led the gypsies to a relation with particular and diverse space. After reviewing the main lines of this process, the author recalls the notion of migration, mobility and territoriality to characterize and its complementarity and its richness in the comprehensive approach to the Roma phenomenon.
