Against Urban Segregation and Social Cohesion: The Neighborhood Law of Catalonia

Abstract

In the main Spanish cities during the last decade there has been an increase in social problems. The analysis of the old foundations of social segregation, but also the new forms of expression, lead us to reflect on the new policies and management tools necessary to fight against this phenomenon. The purpose of these notes is precisely to describe the characteristics of one of these new instruments: the law on urban areas and neighborhoods that require special attention.
