Motricidade: 20 years publishing human movement
In 2025, Revista Motricidade will reach 20 years, the oldest Portuguese scientific journal with SCOPUS indexing in the Physical Education and Sports sub-areas. Extending the scenario to the global space of Lusophony, we believe that only a few similar ones in Brazil maintain similar indexing and antiquity as Motricidade (I think about five magazines, based on the last consultation I made at SCIMAGO).
Having been Motricidade’s first editor, I have the unique pleasure of coordinating this special edition of Motricidade, which celebrates its 20th anniversary and will be titled Motricidade: 20 Years Publishing Human Movement.
In this special edition, I would like to count on the broad participation of the many colleagues who have published with us over the past 20 years. Anticipating broad participation and wanting to be inclusive, we will open the format of an original article with word limitations, using the usual dimension of a research note. This will allow authors to be credited with a publication in a full article but will increase editorial space for more participants. Colleagues who wish to submit work in other formats (essay, opinion article or similar) will be welcome but must present the proposal to the editor before submitting.
Doing justice to the multidisciplinary approach that has characterised Motricidade over these 20 years, we will accept works from various areas of health sciences and social and human sciences. All works must be submitted using Motricidade’s system. Articles accepted for publication will be subject to the usual Motricidade publication fees.
Articles must be sent electronically via the Motricidade Journal system (https://revistas.rcaap.pt/motricidade/about/submissions).
When choosing the section, scroll down and select '20 years publishing human movement'.
Articles must be prepared using the article template available in the system, respecting the limit of 3000 words (including cover page, list of references, tables and figures). Authors who wish to submit original articles larger than indicated must consult the editor to obtain the necessary prior authorisation before submitting. The same word limit applies to manuscripts in other formats (essay, opinion article or similar), and authors must use the same template. In these cases, in addition to the title page and summary, the other sections are the free choice of the authors.
