Motricidade processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and applicable Portuguese data protection law (Law no. 58/2019).

The personal data (including names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, and other submitted information) are collected and processed exclusively for editorial management, peer review, communication, publication, indexing, and archiving purposes.

The legal basis for processing is the data subject’s consent and the legitimate interest of the journal in managing and disseminating scientific publications.

Personal data may be shared with service providers strictly necessary for publication and indexing processes (e.g., hosting services, DOI registration agencies, indexing databases), under appropriate data protection safeguards. Data are not used for commercial purposes.

Personal data are retained only for as long as necessary to ensure the integrity of the academic record and to comply with legal and archival obligations.

Data subjects have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of their personal data, request data portability where applicable, and lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD).
