Abstract
This text presents a general idea of the evolution of International Criminal Law during the XX century, through the analysis of the Court of Leipzig, Military International Court of Nuremberg, Military International Court of Far East, “ad hoc” Court for the ex-Yugoslavia, and “ad hoc” Court for the Rwanda. The aim of this article is to analyse the differences related to the origin, basis and intervention of the courts and also changes in this field of International Law, in last years.
In fact, nowadays, the sovereignty concept is understood as a relative concept and the individual is accepted as a subject of International Law, with special duties as far as Humanitarian Law is concerned. This article aims to describe the evolution of International Criminal Law, noting however that further work shall be carried on in the future.
