Rethinking Peace,

Abstract

The author, President of the UNESCO’s National Commission, points out the main goal of seminar, “to think Peace”, in the UN proclamation spirit of the year 2000, as the International Year for the Culture of Peace. “To think Peace” is fundamental for societies to hold the responsibility for conflict prevention according to an enlarged concept of citizenship and a re-evaluated role of sovereign States in a globalized world.
