Eternalizing Westphalia?
International Law in a Period of Turbulence
Abstract
This artiele develops three main argurnents relating to the insertion of Intemational Law in the system created by the Treaty of Westphalia. Firstly, it seeks to identily the similarities and dilferenees between the politico-legal Westphalian order and the Current international order. Secondly, it identilies the main agents of change in the international legal agenda that have developed in the meantime. Finally, it assesses the real depth of these changes, questioning whether the legal systern of Westphalia belongs to the past.
