INTRODUCTION: Cataracts are the main cause of blindness. The disease can be acquired or congenital, resulting in an opacification of the lens, leading to a progressive decrease in vision. The objective was to identify user satisfaction in the cataract surgery program - Angónia, 2023.METHODS: This is a cross-sectional observational study. The questionnaire was applied to patients undergoing cataract surgery in November 2023 to analyze the quality of care for patients undergoing cataract surgery in this health unit.
RESULTS: One hundred thirty-one eyes were operated on, the average age of the patients was 68.4 years. The female gender was the most frequent (67.5%). The frequency of illiterates was 54 %. The frequency of the parameters used to evaluate the level of user satisfaction was above 95.0%. The improvement in postoperative visual acuity was statistically significant (right eye p<0.0001; left eye p<0.0001).
CONCLUSION: The average degree of satisfaction was excellent, reflecting the quality of the services provided and the final visual benefit. Most patients undergoing surgery had a low level of education and income.
