About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Psilogos – Journal of the Psychiatry Service of Hospital Prof. Doutor Fernando Fonseca was founded in 2004 with the purpose of contributing to the advancement of scientific and technical education in all domains of mental health. It publishes original research and review papers, case reports, critical book reviews as well as other articles deemed important for the theory or practice of psychiatry and mental health.

Peer Review Process

The Psilogos follows a rigorous double blind peer-review method. All reviewers are external to the journal's institutions and are renowed professionals in their respective field of expertise. Upon receipt of the manuscript, the proposed paper will be evaluated by the Editorial Board, which will assess whether it lies within the editorial policy of the journal and its scope. If accepted, the work will be anonimized and sent for evaluation by an external reviewer (peer-review). After evaluation by the reviewer, the article may: a) be refused; b) be published after corrections proposed by the reviewers are made; c) be published without modifications. The reason for the refusal and opinions of the reviewers or the editorial board will always be communicated to the authors.
