Abstract

This paper addresses the Portuguese school and the concept of holodisfrenia. During the current, I will briefly analyse the origin and individuation of these kinds of acute polymorphic psychosis. Subsequently I will discuss the Portuguese School, by examining its roots, its principal individualities, and by isolating the elements that distinguish it. Finally I will elaborate on the clinical aspects of the Holodisfrenias, highlighting that which is contemporary and pertinent in the concept.
