Based on two case studies of Porto University, we studied the role of praxe in the integration/inclusion process of the newly arrived students. This article discusses 15 individual portraits based upon those experiences. We studied the efficiency of praxe in social interaction, as the most important mechanism of integration and socialization in the new reality, concluding that it is a context of engagement, advantage, creation and inhibition of provisions and competences. We have also identified different profiles, in which is based the multiplicity of interaction modes to the phenomenon.
