La dépénalisation de l’avortement visait à mettre fin aux avortements clandestins. Cependant, des obstacles qui affectent plus les femmes défavorisées restent à l’évidence: l’objection de conscience, des délais de procédure trop courts, des périodes de réflexion obligatoires ou la stigmatisation. La recherche sur la relation entre la formulation législative et sa mise, basée sur des données quantitatives de la DGS et qualitatives d’entretiens et de groupes de discussion avec des spécialistes et des professionnels de la santé, témoigne de l’échec partiel de ses objectifs. Cette évidence fournie, par ailleurs, des éléments pour un débat futur.
