Technological perspectives for post-pandemic tourism

Abstract

ICT has a strong presence in the tourism business process, namely in restaurants using smart kitchen mobile technologies, WIFI for guests, tablets for point of service platforms, mobile phone charging stations, digital displays, table devices or music systems, systems for reservations, waiting list management, finance, marketing, staff management, delivery management, menu design, food waste management, energy management, restaurant websites, inventory management, ordering systems, guest reward and loyalty programmes, as well as payment via mobile devices (CB Insight, 2017). There are several applications associated with the tourism sector that can be found, i.e. ICT facilitates and in what way tourism business tasks.
