LEVANTAMENTO DO USO DA ÁGUA, MANEJO DE DEJETOS SANITÁRIOS E DESCARTE DE EMBALAGENS EM PROJETO SOCIOAMBIENTAL DA BACIA DO RIBEIRÃO SANTANA EM VARGINHA-MG

RESUMOEm Varginha, MG, o “Projeto Cultivando Água Boa” possui responsabilidade socioambiental, desenvolvimento sustentável e monitora o meio ambiente e as águas que banham propriedades rurais. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar um levantamento de dados relacionados ao uso da água, manejo de dejetos sanitários e descarte de embalagens das propriedades rurais da Bacia do Ribeirão Santana em Varginha, MG. Foram aplicados questionários a 55 agricultores de forma individual e foi utilizado o aplicativo estatístico SPSS versão para o Windows® para análise dos dados. Das propriedades avaliadas, 70% afirmaram que utilizam a água para uso residencial, contudo, 30% usam para irrigar a plantação e lavar os grãos do cafeeiro. Com relação aos dejetos sanitários, 91% das propriedades direcionam o esgoto para fossas negras e somente 9% possuem fossas ecológicas. Quanto ao descarte de embalagens de agrotóxicos, 80% dos entrevistados fazem devolução em estabelecimentos comerciais, 15% fazem a tríplice lavagem na própria lavoura, 4% possuem lugar próprio para lavagem e 1% faz a lavagem na saída do lavador dos grãos de café ou na torneira da pia. Conclui-se que profissionais das ciências agrárias devem conscientizar produtores a participarem de projetos socioambientais como ferramenta para as ações de conservação do meio ambiente e planejamento dos usos da água.
ABSTRACT
In Varginha, MG, the "Cultivating Good Water Project" has environmental responsibility, sustainable development and monitors the environment and waters bordering farms. The objective of this work was to survey data related to water use, management of medical waste and packaging disposal of rural properties of Ribeirão Santana Basin in Varginha, MG. Questionnaires were applied to 55 farmers individually and we used the statistical application SPSS for Windows for data analysis. The evaluated properties, 70% said they use water for residential use, however, 30% use to irrigate planting and wash the coffee grains. With regard to medical waste, 91% of the properties direct the sewage tanks for black and only 9% have ecological tanks. For disposal of pesticide containers, 80% of respondents do return in commercial establishments, 15% do the triple washing in the plantation, 4% have a proper place for washing and 1% is washing in the washer out of coffee beans or in the sink. We conclude that professionals of the agricultural sciences should educate producers to participate in environmental projects as a tool for environmental conservation actions and planning of water uses.
