The study of ludic materials and games and their articulation with the development and learning of children in daycare centers and kindergartens has assumed an increasing importance within the scientific community. In the present investigation, it was felt the need to deepen the study of this topic, so the following question was designed: What is the importance of playful materials, especially games, in the daily lives of children of preschool age? With regard to the methodology, we opted for a qualitative study with the application of interviews and a questionnaire survey. Five kindergarten teachers and two specialists from educational and child support institutions participated in the study. The results indicate that through playful materials, especially games, children develop their imagination and autonomy and learn to respect rules.
