Contribution of financial education to women's income management - case study of the Cooperativa de Crédito das Mulheres de Nampula, SCRL (2016-2017)

The present research deals with financial education in the management of women's income, with the aim of understanding the contribution of financial education in the management of women's income, which are the driving pillars for the harmonization of society. Financial education encourages the prevention of personal indebtedness and budget commitment, and good personal planning measures how much is spent and definition of goals to be achieved in the short and long term. The relevance of the research is inserted in understanding: how does financial education contribute to the income management of women in Cooperativa de crédito das Mulheres de Nampula, SCRL. It is also noticed that this management does not always bring the benefits initially projected, hence the importance of these women knowing how to manage the income obtained. From the methodological point of view, this is qualitative research of an exploratory nature, and the instruments for collecting information were through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation and document analysis. The results of this study showed that financial education contributes to the income management of women in the Cooperativa de crédito das Mulheres de Nampula, SCRL. This tool is not only characterized as effective but is also reflected in the five principles of financial education behavior change and application of knowledge by consumers; useful knowledge and easy to apply; knowledge through experience; learn by doing and be of benefit to many people.
