Call for Thematic Dossiers | Permanently open

The journal Anais de História de Além-Mar aims to disseminate original and relevant academic works on the Portuguese presence in the world within its historical context, including comparisons with parallel phenomena and the connections between the histories and societies of the spaces involved. It also welcomes proposals that fall within the current debates involving the multidisciplinary themes of the humanities.

While ensuring the free submission of articles that align with the journal’s objectives, researchers in the fields of History, Literature, Art, Politics, Philosophy, among others, are also invited to submit proposals for thematic dossiers that fall within the scope of the journal.

Thematic dossier proposals should include a title, a text presenting the theme in Portuguese and English (maximum 250 words), 5 keywords, and the planned composition of the dossier (minimum of three and maximum of six articles), by indicating the authors and titles of the articles that will compose it (bearing in mind that the number of contributions from CHAM researchers does not exceed 30%), or, alternatively, by launching a call for articles, in which case the topics of interest should be specified.

The dossier coordination must be carried out by at least two specialists, one of whom must be from an institution outside NOVA FCSH, and the ORCIDs of the coordinators must be indicated (or, if they do not have an ORCID, a link to another CV available online).

Proposals are accepted in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, or Italian and should be sent to the journal’s email address (anais.cham@fcsh.unl.pt). After receiving the proposal, the Editorial Board will assess its suitability for the journal, and the decision will be communicated to the proponents by email.
