The analysis of the colonial parties in the América Portuguesa always prioritized the regulator and the hierarchical character of those events. Evidently, one cannot deny that aspect. This article presents a differentiated analysis: in which ways those festivities, in the auriferous areas, could be constituted in a macro symbol of the political and religious organization of the State of D. João V, representing a metaphor of the Portuguese society guided by the precepts and mechanisms of a political theology that for its turn was established on the own organic metaphor of the State as a “mystic body”, in which the King was the head and the society represented the members.
