Interactive service jobs have singularities related to the nature of work and to employees’ characteristics. Starting from research on employees in restaurants and clothing shops located in shopping centers, this article seeks to analyze interactive service work in these contexts, the type of employees required, objectives and rules of operation among the shops, and the difficulties experienced by employees in everyday work. These are relevant indicators to understand organizational contexts of work and the logic of demand and supply of skilled labor in these labor markets.
