This article adresses a number of moments in the campaign for the publication of Priest António Vieira’s Clavis Prophetarum which took place in Portugal from the late XVIIth century to the middle XVIIIth century. Amongst the many promoters of such a campaign, it is worth hightlighting some players related to the Portuguese Court, such as Cangranor’s archbishop D. Diogo Justiniano, the kingdom’s grand inquistor Nuno da Cunha e Ataíde and a group of literati linked to the Academia Real de História, founded by D. João v in 1720.
