This article summarizes the main results of a survey of Portuguese attitudes to environmental and public health risks. The aim was to understand perceptions and behaviours relating to different risks, as well as the extent to which the actors involved in the assessment and management of risk are trusted. An attempt was also made to understand variations in this data in the light of interviewees' social position.
